Churchill Trust Private Hospital Marlborough

Hawkins Architecture managed all aspects of this project including the research, design and layout of the building, the building consent and tender process, right through to handing over the keys.

Architecturally the building is of a conventional design, but it functions well in its capacity as a hospital and was completed within budget. The hospital has nine rooms, a minor operations theatre and day stay, xray and specialist orthopaedic facilities.

The editor of Marlborough’s local daily newspaper thought the the interior design and layout were “well done, all designed with patient care in mind.” While the rooms were “more like hotel rooms than a hospital room.” He almost wanted to have some surgery done to try it out - you can read his thoroughly entertaining piece here.
